GOOD PROSPECTS FOR MONTREAL MEETING. Montreal, Que.. August 21. All of tho horsemen who have applied for stabling for the fall meeting of the Montreal Jockey Club, from September 0 to 10, have been notified of their being allotted stalls. The number of stalls at Blue Bonnets enables the club to look after all coiners and to stable them or. the track. This week will bring considerable activity, as many strings will be shipped hero to rest. The horses owned by August Belmont will leave Hamilton on AVednesday, according to a letter from trainer John Arhalen, and will arrive here on Thursday next. The horses trained by AVillie Martin, Ernest Heider. J. AV. Dayton and a number of the Canadian-owned strings will leave Hamilton on Monday and will arrive at Blue Bonnets Tuesday. The track continues in good condition and tho work of the horses now housed at the course improves each day. Trainer Matt Feakes, who has charge of the stable owned by Mrs. L. A. Livingston, is hustling Lovetie along. He gets his work regularly and has shown great improvement during the past week. Lovetie lias shown some good trials recently and will lie ready to start here and at Toronto. The Kings Platers are gradually improving and the contest tills fall will be the best that has ever been run for this event in the Province of Quebec. C. S. Campbell, who has an entry of two In the plate, has written asking jockey Phil Goldstein to ride for him. The Provincial Nursery Stakes, which is for two-year-olds and run as a preliminary to the plate race next season, will see a fair lot go to the post. In this the first of the get of Bushmount, an imported stallion, will start. This is Fred Cowans, owned by Charles McEachraji. There will be more races for steeplechasers at this meeting than previously, one being scheduled for each day, while on Friday and Saturday, the last two days of the meeting, two races through the field will be run. This is given as an added attraction to owners of jumpers, making a total of nine events for them. The present outlook gives promise of tills being the banner meeting of the Montreal club. The infield has received attention and the horses here are being schooled through it each day. The stables, all of which have been overhauled, are In the best possible condition and ready for the reception of the iiorses as they arrive.
