A. having been informed that his horse was scratched and declared the bet off. the matter appears to have been settled then and there. Chas. S., Chicago. When Good Ship won a soiling race August 30, she was bid up and bought by II. G. Bedwell. Subsequently and previous to her race of September i, lie sold her to W. B. Carson, bnt no notice of the transaction had reached here, so in the latter race she was coupled in the entries with Little Klva. Only the latter ran for your bet but, since Good Ship was beaten also, it lost anyway.
