FORKFUL RACING AT CHARLESTON. First and Second Choices All hut Sweep Card at Palmetto Park. Charleston, S. C, December 3. Continued bleak weather was again instrumental in keeping down local patronage at Palmetto .Park this afternoon, but the full force of regulars contributed to a good attendance. Betting action was again brisk and favored the public. The fourteen layers were hit by the victories of three favorites and a like number of second choices. The Kentuckians figured prominently in the afternoons results, for they carried off four of the purses and backed their representatives in confident fashion. Their largest profits followed the victory of Winning Witch, which won in easy fashion over Lady Lightning. After the race the Weber filly was bid up from an entereil price of ,000 to ,405 and was bought in. The following race also drew a bid on the winner when Behest landed the purse. Entered for 00, he was bid up to 05 and also retained. Doctor Kendalls victory in the third race gave the pricemakers a severe setback, for he was backed almost to the exclusion of the others in the race; He won conimandingly, with the extreme outsider, Ruisseau, bringing up in advance of Harcourt. The opener was easy for the odds-6n favorite, Ann Tilly, which won as her rider pleased. W. O. Joplins Lace indulged Righteasy and Ancon with the lead in the second until the last sixteenth, where she passed the leaders and had no difficulty in landing the purse. The closing dash went to Dr. Waldo Briggs, but he had to be shaken up in the stretch to. outstay Linbrook. There was another big batch of arrivals todar from the east, including William Beverler.
