ROBERT DAVIES Oj" ROAD TO RECOVERY. Toronto, Ont., December 23. The many friends of Robert Davies, of Thorncliffe, the leading winning owner of the Canadian turf, are gratified by the reports of ids steady, if slow, recovery of health. The engagement of Henry McDaniel as trainer, replacing John Nixon, who retired at the close of the recent season, is ample evidence that the racing Interests of Thorncliffe Farm will be maintained in a high state of activity. The horses are all doing well at homo and will remain here until next spring instead or going to Washington, as was done last spring. The new trainer will join the stable about the middle of January.
