IRON MASKS DAM IS DEAD. Itoyul Rose, the property of Gifford Cochran, is dead, having succumbed shortly after her recent arriyal in New York from Lexington. Royal Rose, originally one of the most highly prized of the Castlcton mares., was foaled in 1891 and was a daughter of Royal Hampton from Belle Rose by Ueaudesert and traced in the female line to the famous Beeswing. She was the dam of that exceedingly fast horse Iron Mask holder of the American records for five and a half furlongs and "three-quarters of a mile of Lancastrian, of Transvaal and of Pennant, winner of last years Futurity. It was Mr. Cochrans intention to mate Royal Rose this spring Jo Peter Pan and thereby obtain a brother or sister to Pennant.
