KEMPI0N WINS BIG CALCUTTA RACE. Wherever they may be raced. Broomsticks sons and daughters assiduously do their best to contribute to the fame of their sire, which is acquiring an international reputation. At the Dei-ember Calcutta meeting in faraway India, the Kings Emperors Cup of 30,000 rupees was won by Mr. R. K. S. s bay horse Kempiou, with Lumiuation secoud and Black Buck third. The winner was a 5 to 4 favorite and wou by three-quarters of a length. Amongst the other starters was the Australian horse J turn -mar, about which 10 to 1 was on offer. Keiuplon is a five-year-old bay horse by Broomstick l li-carline, which in England in 1911, won for his then owner, T. Baring, the Fitzwilllam nu,es, Somerville Stakes. Sale Stakes and Houghton Stakes at Newmarket, and in 1912 won the Mfty-thlril Sale Stakes for the same owner. From his odds in the big Calcutta race it must 1m Inferred that he has won other East Indian races, of which no account has drifted to this country. i
