NOTES OF THE TURF ABROAD. The following mares have arrived at the Bur-dans Stud, Epsom, to be mated with Cicero: Persephone. Aetion, Palmetto. Cherimoya in foal to While Eagle, Combination in foal to Santry, Love Mink, Orange in foal to Lochryan, Concila-tion, Colna. Valeria, Set Free, Elba, Catnap, Virginia in foal to Le Blizon, Gorgophonc, Galicia, and Sapphic. Cherimoya won the Oaks in 1911, while Galicia is the- dam of the Derby winner Lem-borg, by Ciceros sire, Cyllene, and of the St. Leger winner," Bayardo. There is a deal of comment just now on the absence of London betting on the Lincolnshire Handicap, hut this is easily explained by tho fact that there is now very little done until much nearer tne day of the race. The prices that have been published would undergo very severe alteration were any genuine commissions to come along; but in tho meantime hackers generally are fighting shy of the race, it is the same with the Grand National market, there being no money about for anything yet. Probably, however, during the next few days matters will brighten up considerably. Loudon Sporting Life of February 19.
