MORE MONEY FOR HORSEMEN AT WINDSOR. Increases in Stake Values Announced by Management of Canadian Course. Detroit, Mich., March 9. The Windsor Jockey Clubs stake offerings for the season of 1914, which close May 5, show a substantial increase in tho amount of prize money to be distributed to horsemen. The total value of the stakes alone is 20,500, in addition to which will be given purses with a daily average of not less than ,000. The Frontier Handicap, for three-year-olds and upward, one and one-eighth miles, as usual tops the list, with a total value of ,000, an increase of 00 over last year. The Detroit and Windsor Ferry Handicap, for three-year-olds and upward, one and one-sixteenth miles has a value of , 000, also an increase of .oo. The George Ilendrie Memorial Handicap is a now stake for all ages, distance one mile. The value is ,;2,0l0 and a challenge cup. presented in memory of the late George Ilendrie by his nephew, Lt.-Col. William Ilendrie. The Kdeiiwold Stakes, for two-year-olds, live and and one-half furlongs, value 2.000 and a silver plate presented by Walter O. Parmer, has an increased value of 00. The Essex Handicap, for two-year-olds, live-eighths of a mile, has been increased in value from ,500 to ,000. The other stake events are as follows: D. and C. Stakes, for three-year-olds and upward, one mile, value ,500; Pouchartraiu Stakes, for three -year ,hls and upward, three-quarters of a mile, value ,500: Detroit Stakes, for two-year-olds, live and on. ball" furlongs, value ,500; Windsor Slakes, for three-year-olds and upward, one mile, value ,500; Canadian Handicap, for three-year-olds and upward, foaled iu the Dominion of Canada, one mile, value ,500. President George M. Ilendrie and Secretary Waller O. Parmer are determined lo keen up the high standard of racing which the Windsor track now enjovs and with this end in view are holding out inducements which will attract owners of the best horses in training to the Windsor course. The first Windsor meeting this summer will he hold Jnlv 15-22 and the second meeting August " 15-22.
