Wootton announces 1- he will be returning to Australia next year, . and. chatthig about racing and bnnling, says he " puriioses purchasing several high-class mares iu " England, and will arrange to have them mated to • Australian time before sending them out here. From this it will be seen that Wootton has an eye _■ to. some of our rich two-ami three-vear-old races. The surprising part is that some syndicate has not ,, long ere this taken the step proposed. In addition i- to a coi!|ile of horses for Mr. G. S. Yuill. he e has bought one named Halberd for the Randwick * trainer. T. Paylen. Halberd is a six year-old 1 horse by William the Third from Britauia. and as he is six years old. presuinbaly he has been J| bought for stud and not racing purposes. Although I, not a particularly high-class performer, he is a a winner— Sydney Referee.
