CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. , At latest reports 277 horses were still marooned 1 at Tijuana. The stables of Charles W. Gasser. Buxton and other owners had been moved to Ix s Angeles. This required a deal of expense, as the horses had to be walked to Corona do, a distance of ■ something like twenty-four miles, and then shipped to Los Angeles. The three two-year-old fillies which W. S. Kilmer r | recently purchased in England were bought from J. B. Joel and are by Sunflower II. — School Rook, Sunflower II. — Eugenia and Sir Geoffrey — My Dollar. They are expected to come over shortly on the steamer Mongolian. They will be sent to I*. M. Taylor at Cruvesend for training. J. W. Coffroth says that the present position of f the horsemen and horses at Tijuana necessitates a 1 j deal of work on the part of the jockey club officials s in caring for thein. It is necessary to cart water r a half mile to the track, and the same difficulty 5 presents itsolt in securing food far the men and 1 feed for the horses. Still it is simply an inconvenience, " and the race track following had a lucky s escape,
