STILL ANOTHER MARYLAND BILL. Annapolis. Md., February 10. — A new racing bill was introduced in the Maryland Senate yesterday which is intended to supplant the various drastic measures now before the legislature, one of which would go so far as to forbid not only betting and racing, but also would prevent the circulation in the state of any newspaper containing racing news. Senator Randalls bill introduced yesterday simply provides that it shall he unlawful for any person or persons acting as officials, boards or commissions or members thereof to issue a license permitting betting, pool selling or bookmaking within the state of Maryland nnder a penalty of Iioing guilty of misdemeanor and subject to a fine of not more than SI. 000 or imprisonment in jail for not more than one year. The bill permits racing for purses and prizes, but forbids any kind of betting.
