CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. Sidney L. Joseph thai has sold the good steeplechaser, Racebrook, to A. J. Davis. It is reported that the Canadian half-mile tracks managers have revised their policy and will take no horses off the cars this season. Clint Dewitt is withont a horse this year, but is confident of getting hold of something in time to take part in tin- opening of racing at Jamaica. Christopher J. Fitzgerald, presiding steward of the winter meeting at Oriental Park, Havana, has returned to New York. Sandy McNaughton has shipped his string of thoroughbreds, consisting of the good three -year-old colt Recluse and nine two-year-olds, all by Von Tromp, from Gravesend to Bowie It is announced that the half-mile race tracks at Toronto will continue to operate with a syndicate ring. There was a rumor some time ago that the management was investigating the feasibility of changing to the mutuels. , With a fine disregard for timeliness an eastern paper demands to be told if "the American race horse is decadent and has become a mere sprinter."
