EXTENSIVE BAND OF DURYEA HORSES. New York, March 31. — Foreman Johnson, who has distinguished himself this year in the eminently successful handling of many valuable thoroughbreds in his capacity as horse foreman on the steamship Minnehaha, brings over the news that the horses belonging to the estate of the late II. B. Duryea are being carried across the channel from France to England at the rate of nine a week and placed on Red Hill Farm. Ipon the publication of the name of some of the Duryea two -year -olds in this country many reached the conclusion that they were all tin- animals in the Duryea band which could be brought out of France. This seems to have been erroneous, however. Johnson says that when complete the Duryea horses to be sent to this country will include thirty-six animals, but owing to the limited facilities for shipping horses from France to England, they can be transferred in bands not exceeding nine and that only one band can be sent over each week. Nine of them were in England when the Minnehaha sailed, but the shipments are continuing and it is expected that the Minnehaha will bring over the entire number of thirty-six on her next trip to New York. Foreman Johnson said lie could not be certain about it. but lie was of the opinion that nothing but two-year-olds would be included in the Duryea importations to this country.
