. , ] i i BIG NEW ORLEANS PROFITS DISPOSED OF. New Orleans. La., April 1. — The stockholders of the Business Mens Racing Association have decided to devote 0,000 of the profits to the construction of a city -auditorium. 5,000 to the establishment of a state live stock fair and ,000 to the French opera. The committee of five stockholders appointed last week have been authorized to make a close investigation of the alleged voting of salaries by directors to themselves and make a report at the next meeting of the stockholders April Yesterdays meeting was stormy. Speakers repeatedly broke out in denunciation of the taking of big fees by the directors for services to the association. While this discussion was at its height, Col. John P. Sullivan, one of the associations attorneys, came forth with the suggestion that the whole matter of just or unjust salaries to directors, executive committeemen, stewards and press agents be referred to the investigating committee of five. That suggestion prevailed and the meeting ended amicably. Colonel Sullivan stated that at the first meeting of the directors after the dosing of the meeting, he had ruled that any director accepting remuneration would have to prove he had earned it, or he would be asked to make restitution.
