The decision which deprived Dixie Mina of her race of February 25 gave Prosi eros Baby second money, but had no effect on tiie betting, which remained as the horses finished. Wm. W.. Dubuque, Iowa. The number of the families to which thoroughbred horses belong is, according to the Bruce Lowe tables, starting with certain mares of more than a century back. In tabulated jH-digrees the indicating number is prefixed to sires only. S. B. F., Cincinnati. O. Old Rosebud has not been in racing for a long time because of lameness. Star of Love is by Star Shoot — Lady Vincent. Royal Blue is by Plaudit — Blue Mass. Both were in the stable of R. Parr and in some way their identity became mixed, with the result that their early racing as two-year-olds was done in the names of each other. The mistake was rectified when discovered.
