GREAT DOLLY, off well, ran in second place to the stretch turn, where she saved much ground, tiien raced into the lead and won drawii.g clear. DR. NELSON set a fast pace, but showed lack of racing experience and tried to run out on the last turn, which lost him the race. WAUKEAG closed up on the leaders all the way after being beaten away from the post. KALITAN run fairly well. The others were never contenders. Scratched— 253S7,Positano. 112. RETWEEN IS followed the leaders close up until in the hnal eighth, then closed Tip with a rush and won going awav. INA KAY showed the most early speed, but tired badly in the last eighth. MARTIN CASCA was interfered with in the first quarter and forced wide while rounding the far turn, but finished fast. WATER LILY began slowly and closed a big gap. CHESTERTON showed speed, but tired as if shprt. The winner, entered for 00. was bid up to ,105 and bought in. BRANDYWINE was always prominent, but swerved to the inside at the eighth post. DR. KENDALL was crowded back in the first sixteenth. HUMILIATION and LORD WELLS ran well. FLITTERGOLD ran forwardly. but finally tired as if short and the race should improve him. REPUBLICAN ran away a mile and three-quarters while on the way to the post. BROOMSEDGE ran fairly well. BATWA raced in closest pursuit nearly throughout, but tired in the homestretch. GERRARD wore the tiring BENDEL down and got up in the last few-strides for third place. YODELES was | oorly managed in the early running, after getting away in a tangle and being made too much use of on the backstretch, tired after racing into a good lead. EUTERPE raced well . and . easily disposed of MUZANTI in the homestretch. The latter was a close contender to the last turn, then tired.
