HON. J. N. CAJIDENS RECENT IMPORTATION. AVe learn that Lord Derby has just sold Light Brigade, and this well-known race horse will next week be shippeO to the United States. The purchaser is the Hon. J. N. Camden, of the Hartland Stud, Kentucky. The sale was privately negotiated through the British Bloodstock Agency. The horse had his first season at the stud in 1915, and sired seventeen foals, many of which show high promise. A brown horse, standing fully sixteen hands high. Light Brigade is a splendid specimen of a high-class thoroughbred stallion. Bred by Lord Derby, Light Brigade won two good races and was placed second five tinies as a two-year-old. As a three-year-old Light Brigade showed first-class form when he Avon eleven weight-for-age races in succession, including the Column Produce Stakes and other good races. The next season he won the Atlantic Stakes, Liverpool, beating Louvois. AAhite Magic, etc., and other events. Light Brigade broke down and was pulled up when running for The AVhip in October, 1914. During his turf career Light Brigade won sixteen races and 11,414 pounds in stakes. His is a grandly-bred horse, being by Pietou a grandson of Bend Or out of Bridge of Sighs, by Isinjilass, out of Santa Brigida. London Sportsman of June 24. ...
