IMPROVEMENTS AT MOUNT ROYAL PARK. Montreal, Que., July 12. Arrangements for the opening of the meeting of the Back River Jockey Club on Saturday, July 15, are fast being completed. The whole plant has been re-arranged. The judges stand lias been removed towards the paddock so that it is now opposite, the center of the grandstand, giving a gooil view of the finish from both sides and also a longer run to the first turn, which will prove beneficial to the horses. The paddock has Ix-eii renovated and will be replaced by a new one for the second meeting, while the stands and buildings have all been painted, lending a fresh and new appearance to the plant. Owing to the numerous applications for stabling, Manager Thomas Duggan has authorized the building of ona hundred new stalls, which will be completed by Tuesday next. The roof of the judges stand has been raised, which will furnish a stewards stand, something that was missing at the two meetings of last season. The track is in almost perfect condition and the horses now stabled at the course are making good daily trials. Harry White, who is looking after the transportation of horses to the track, reports that he has applications for over five hundred stalls. He will issue orders for stabling to the horsemen on application at the town office at 210 St. James street. Presiding Judge Martin Nnthanson has wired that he will have the conditions for the first three days racing out by the end of the week. Charles Campeaii. who was presiding judge at Dclorimttr Park, is assisting Manager Thomas Duggan in preparations for the meeting and will be associate judge. Edward St. Pore will be presiding steward; Sheridan Clark, clerk of the course; W. W. Lyles, paddock judge, and W. M. Murray, starter.
