Grant Hugh Brownes five-year-old Magnet, will be shipped to Mr. Brownes stock farm at Goshen, N. Y., Monday. The Tijuana meeting will come to a close Saturday. July 22. unless it is decided to race also on Saturday, July 23. The war scare, which ton days ago had horsemen an followers of the -nces :t Tiiicia more than a trifle uneasy, has died out completely, and the jivti-age daily attendance nt the irack is about :ts great now as it ever was. Windsor will have the distinction of having more pari-mutuel machines in operation than any other track in this country where this form of wagering prevails. Forty-seven machines have been installed, an increase of ten over last year, when the machines were used for the first time. This number, it is believed, will be sufficient. Last year the equipment was inadequate. R. O. Miller will ship his entire stable from Aqueduct for Saratoga today. This same shipment will include O. J. Brockmillers horses as well as those of J. Thonihy. Friday night W. M. Carter will ship his whole stable from Belmont Park to Saratoga and with his horses will be shipped Hickory Nut and Ilessie. the pair of two-year-old fillies which Ernest Seitas bought from John E. Madden a few weeks ago. After the steeplechase at Aqueduct Monday, El Bart was found to be so badly broken down that he had to be shot. El I.art was not a sound horse when he went to the post. He was a patchod-up cripple and should not have been allowed to start. He limped so badly after his last race last week in which he finished far in the ruck that his owner, L. Woods, gave him to W. M. Carter, in whose colors he ran Monday. Mr. Sanford has received the news that his good English-bred colt Nassovian won the Princess of AValos Stakes at Newmarket, England, last Thursday. This race; is worth about 5,000, the distance is a mile and a half, and the Sanford colt, carried 122 pounds. It will be remembered that Nassovian finished a close third in the New Derby. Preston Rureh describes him as a big bay colt by William the Third Veneration II.. the dam of the great Cragnour, which after his Derby disqualification was sold for 50,000 to go to Argentina, South America, as a stock horse. As a result, of the victory of his filly Tragedy in the Astoria Dinner Stakes at Aqueduct, Harry K. Knapp entertained nearly a score of prominent turfmen at an elaborate dinner Monday night. One of these was this bay colt Bromo, which ran a close second to Thunderer in tin; Futurity of IMS, and the other was the imported chestnut colt Clapperbill, by Thrush out of Azores. This last mentioned colt was purchased in England for Mr. Whitney by A. J. Joyner, anil English sportsmen entertained an extremely high opinion of him, but hi? has not yet started in a race. Trainer Rowe has arranged to have four two-year-old fillies now at Brookdale brought to Belmont Park to be put in training. Few of the best thought of imported two-year-olds have started as yet and some native breds as well have yet to appear. John Sanfords Meteoric, by Star Shoot Hamburg Belle, which cost him 2,500 last year and was the highest-priced vearling sold at auction in this country, is an example.
