"WHERE THAT GOLD CUP RACE WAS LOST. Lexington. Ky., August 29. Among the subjects to be considered by the Kentucky State Racing Commission at its meeting next Friday will be the proposed Kentucky Gold Cup race. At its meeting in Louisville, on May 23. the commission resolved thnt Messrs. George .7. Long of Louisville, John Middletou of Louisville, J. B. Respess of Covington, Hal Price Headley of Lexington T. C. .McDowell of Lexington, A. B. Hancock of Paris and T. H. Talbott of Paris, be "requested to serve as a committee to make the conditions, including weights to be carried by horses contending, for a race to Iks known as the Kentucky Gold Cup, to which the commission shall add a gold cup costing ,000. to be run upon the track adding tho largest sum for the same, and that they he requested to meet on the third day of June at 11 oclock at Douglas Park nice track and to submit said rules and conditions."
