CANADIAN BREEDING BUREAU NOTES. Montreal. Que.. August 29. The well-known thoroughbred stallion Ostrich, by Order, by Ben dOr. dam Plumage, by Gnhlfinch by Ormonde, has been transferred by the Canadian National Bureau of Breeding from New Brunswick to Manitoba. Ostrich got wonderful results in Xew Brunswick, and Manitoba is lucky in securing such a well-bred and proven sire of remounts. J. R. Watt of Claresliolm. Alberta, writes that Xashwaak colts finished first, second and third at the Claresliolm Exhibition, and that this fine young horse lias immensely improved, the breed of horses in that district. "By next spring." says he. "we will have a large number of magnificent officers mounts, old enough for service." Xashwaak is a handsome son of St. Dory by St. Simon, dam Tillie Ainee, by Fordham, and was donated to the bureau by C. L. Hervey of this city. He has not only won many first prises in western Canada, but on different trips to the American side lias always returned a winner. J. I. Canlett of Kirkfield Park has been given the bay stallion Firebug,; by imported AVoolsthorpe, dam Incendiary, by Lamplighter. Firebug was donated to the National Bureau by J. H. Madigiu, president of the Niagara Racing Association, who paid ,000 for him as a two-year-old. Senator Tom Davis of Prince Albert. Sask.. has been given Naughty Lad, the well-known Montreal horse. Angler, the only son of Hindoo in Canada, lias been placed with J. S. Chittenden of Imperial. Sask., mid Zipnngo lias been taken by T. AV. Foam of La Flache, Sask.
