ARE CONFIDENT OF GETTING LICENSE. A dispatch to the Toronto Globe from Windsor says: The postponment of the consideration of the application for a license for the third race track here has been the cause of considerable feeling, and then? is a good deal of grumbling from friends of those interested in the third track over their treatment by the Ontario government. It is urged that the track represented by Dr. Reaume. otherwise tin-Devonshire Park, is a local institution with local people behind it, while Kenilworth is the property of Toronto people entirely, with neither Windsor nor Essex County capital represented. They go farther and say that Manager Orpen of Kenilworth is unduly favored to the detriment of the local club, inasmuch as he already holds licenses for and operates three tracks in the province of Ontario. The promoters of Devonshire Park express no doubt of the ultimate success of their plans. They have been advised, it is said, that under their -harter they can operate without a provincial license so long as they art? willing to pay the provincial tax. Xo such situation is likely to arise, they hold, as they are confident of receiving a license as soon as the work now proceeding on their property has reached such a stage as to demonstrate the bona fides of the enterprise. However, it is a fact that they have paid a visit to Ottawa, which resulted in strengthening their conviction that they will shortly be in operation with the present obstacles removed.
