The racing at Bowie this afternoon was marred by a bail accident which took place during the running of the third race, a three-quarters dash, in which five horses fell. One of these. Ancon, broke down so badly that lie was destroyed afterwards to nut him out of his misery. But Koppleman, who had the mount on Short Ballot, was picked up and carried to the jockeys room in an unconscious condition and late reports had it that lie was badly injured. The Bonaventure Purse for three-year-olds and over at a mile, featured the card and, after an excellent contest, was won by Venetia. After The Decision led for a half mile, he was passed by Indian Chant, the good thing of the race, which appeared all over the winner to the last sixteenth.
