i TO INCREASE HIS STABLE OWNER A. L. ASTE TO HAVE A CONSIDERABLE STRING RACING NEXT YEAR. Ten Well-Bred Yearlings to Leave Lexington Today Consigned to Him for Training on Some New York Track. Lexington, Ky., November 20. Johnny Miller expected that he would be in New York by Sunday with A. L. Astos ten yearling thoroughbreds, but the shortage of cars detained him here until Tuesday afternoon. The yearlings have been at John S. Barbees Glen Helen Stud and they are considered by him to be the best he has over had for this patron of his establishment, in fact Mr. Barbee says he thinks they represent one of the most promising bands of youngsters ever sent out from Kentucky. They will average over 1,000 pounds and are extremely vigorous. They will be trained at Gravesend. The list is as follows. Bay filly by Peep oDay Evaline dam of Ed Crump and Geo. C. Love, by Deceiver. Black colt by napsburg Glad Smile, by Dr. MacBride. Black filly by Hapsburg Ethel Wheat, by Purse-bearer. Bay filly by Jack Point Sweet Marjorio dam of Fascinating, by Goldfinch. Brown filly by Jack Point Gold Lady dam of Goldy and Ilayden, by Goldcrest. Chestnut filly by Hastings Gold Maid, by Nasturtium. Chestnut filly by Eyebrow Raiment dam of Dandy Dude, by Henry of Navarre. Chestnut filly by Eyebrow Edith Inez, by Jack Point. Cnestnut colt by Star Shoot Eyelet dam of Jaequelina, by St. Andrew. Chestnut colt by Duval Helen Miller dam of Stalwart Helen, by Jean Bereaud. Ail with the exception of the two by Hapsburg, which were recently purchased from Hugh McCarren, Jr., and the sister to Ed Crump, which was purchased from Mr. Barbee, were bred by Mr. Aste. Harry Morrissey has instructions by wire from I. D. Bogan, agent for the El Palomar Stable, to ship Frisky, Theodorita, Rose Point which have been turned out at his Kempland Farm and a yearling by Peep oDay, now at Glen Helen Stud, to New Orleans with the first load of horses going from here to the Crescent City meeting. They are to be trained by John Lowe, who now is at San Mateo, Cal., getting ready several other horses for winter racing.
