YOUNG EIDERS NOT PROPERLY TRAINED. W. Travers, an experienced and capable rider of some" ten years ago, expects to have a stable of horses to train next year. Travers is of the opinion that the Jockeys of the present day are not properly trained. "About all that the majority of them seem to think about these days," said Travers, "is cutting off some other rider and interfering with as many horses as they can in a race where they are riding. Boys are allowed to ride in races these days before they have learned how to sit properly on a homes back. If they were kept at work exercising horse they would learn more and we might have better Jockeys."
