SAYONARRA SHOWS SPEED WITH GOOD RIDING SHE DEFEATS HAZEL DALE AND HAWTHORN AT TIJUANA. Gratitude, Off Last, Runs Around the Others and Wins a Good Race Jockey T. HcTaggart Among the Arrivals from the East. Tijuana, Mex., December 8. Sayonarra ran in improved form, under stronger riding, and won the feature race today, defeating Hazel Dale, Hawthorn and others. Sayonarra bogan well for the first time and fairly flew through the stretch to complete the five and a half furlongs in 1:06. Hazel Dale set all the early pace, but tired in the closing strides. Hawthorn was a close third at the finish. Gratitude ran a striking race in the three-quarters mile contest. She was away last, but ran around the others to win going away. Jockey Tommy McTaggart arrived here today. He plans to get into action within a few days. Seventeen books were in line today and the speculation was decidedly brisk. Jockey Pickens was taken sick after the running of the fourth race and had to cancel his mounts on Magic and Zamloch.
