CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. The Ontario Gazette announces the increase of the capital stock of the Ontario Jockey Club to 00,000. from 00,000, by the creation of 400 shares of new stock at a thousand dollars value. Jockey A. W. Carroll, who rode at Tijuana before the Juarez meeting opened, had ten winners to his credit at the Lower California track during his short stay there. Carroll is under contract to P. M. Civill, who predicts a bright future for the lad. Racing is flourishing in Chili, where, in the last racing year, something over 00,000 was distributed among winning owners. Many of the horses in racing there are from the United States, but there are also quite a number imported from England and France. An accounting of the estate of the late Charles Kohler, breeder and owner of an extensive stable of thoroughbreds, both in this country and France, was filed in the Surrogates Court, Thursday. It showed a balance in charge of the trustees amounting to ,383,537. A considerable number of horses between the age3 cf six and twelve are appearing on the daily programs at both Juarez and Tijuana. These veterans of the turf are still able to run a good race, especially at the short sprinting distances, over which most of the races at those tracks are run. Despite the war pretty stiff fees are asked in France for the use of public service stallions. The great Sardanapale is at the top at the fee of ,000. He stands at the Haras de Champagne-Saiut-Hilaire, where 00 is asked for the use of Verdun, a son of Rabelais Vellcna. The fee for the American horse, Yantec, has been reduced from 00 to 00. Durbar stands at C0, Sweeper 00, Prestige sire of Sardanapale 00. The Two Thousand Guineas winner, Gorgos, is on the 00 matk, as also are Arc de Triomplie and MonPetiot.
