GOVERNMENT PATRONIZES THE RACES. Record Saturday Attendance at Oriental Park Sees Backed Horses Vin. Havana, Cuba, December 30. Many government officials saw the races at Oriental Park today. It was an attendance record for Saturday. E. R. Thomas and a party of friends were among those present. Mr. Thomas watched a couple of races from the stewards stand. Well-backed horses won a majority of the races, and the speculation was heavy. There are many new arrivals from tho United States. A. K. Macomber is expected in a couple of weeks. AVork on the baseball diamond in the race track infield has begun. The track is in splendid condition for the big handicap carded for Monday.
