GOOD BLOODSTOCK SALES IS ENGLAND. Summary of Highest Prices Paid for Horses at the Newmarket December Sale. The annual December sale of thoroughbreds of all ages and descriptions took place at Newmarket, England, December 4 to 8, inclusive. In the course of the five days something more than 700 head were disposed of for a total slightly in excess of 50,000, being 0,000 more than the total of the corresponding sale of 1915. This favorable termination was in no way indicated by the sales of the first day, when the proceedings dragged dismally and the highest price realized was 32 for a four-year-old colt. However, the catalogue for that day was made up of equine odds and ends and no great things were expected. After that, buyers warmed up to their work and choice offerings evoked animated competition and brought good prices, but nothing sensational. Buyers from the United States, France, Italy and Russia were in attendance and helped in the way of making the volume of business good. Those animals which sold for ,000 or more were: Second Day Tuesday, December 5. Will Return, ch. m, 8, by William the Third Recall; F.
