SAYS GOOD YOUNGSTERS MAY NOT RACE. New Orleans Paper Comments on Decision of Some Horsemen to Ignore Now Rule. New Orleans, La., December 30. The Tinies-Picayune says: "New Orleans racing followers probably will be deprived of the opportunity of seeing the real, fine two-year-olds race here this winter. It seems practically certain that any yearlings that show leal form in the trials will not be entered here, but will be saved for the Kentucky, Canadian and Eastern tracks. Then they will be older, and will not be barred by the Jockey Club. "When the New York Jockey Club passed a regulation barring any two-year-olds that raced before April 1, it passed a rule which, though unfair to the Business Mens Racing Association, tends to lift the standard of thoroughbreds. "Many colts that are raced early in their two-year-old form are ruined. This can be seen in the fact that few of the colts that raced here last year or the year before showed anything to talk of Blackie Daw was about the only one to deliver the goods. "Trainers say it is asking a little too much of colts to run a half mile at top speed with 120 pounds up. They have not fully matured, and there is no question that many good thoroughbreds are injured in these infant races. "There are a hundred splendid yearlings here, and doubtless there will be dozens of them to show fine form. But the tip is out that the owners, whose colts show promise ure going to keep them out of the Fair Grounds races and thus keep them from under the ban placed by the Jockey Clubs lecent ruing."
