SUCCESSOR FOR CAPTAIN PRESGRAVE. Dorval Jockey Club Names Frederick Richards As Managing Director. Montreal, Que., December 30. At a meeting of the executive committee of the Dorval Jockey Club this afternoon, Frederick Richards was appointed to fill the vacancy caused through the death of Captain AY. F. Presgrnve last month. Mr. Richards was Captain Presgraves assistant during last autumn and was considered the best man to carry on the plans, outlined by Captain Pres-grave, for next year. Managing Director Richards will visit the New Orleans and Havana tracks this winter, to look for new ideas to be used at Dorval in the way of improvements to the plant. The annual meeting of the Dorval Jockey Club will be held early in January, when the other officers will be elected. The club will fashion its book more after the style of the one offered by the Montreal Jockey Club, in an effort to encourage a better class of horses. There will be no stakes offered, the extra attractions being overnight handicaps of a good value, a method which is now being followed by a number of the clnbs.
