HASS0N FOR KENTUCKY BREEDING BUREAU. Recently Purchased by Kentucky Racing Commission for Service in State. Lexington. Ky.. Jan. 11. — The Kentucky Racing Commission recently purchased the stallion Hasson by Ornus — Balaam Fir. to be used by the Breeding banana of the state. A year ago the commission passed a resolution introduced by Senator J. N. Camden, chairman, to appropriate sufficient funds to purchase a number of large, useful thoroughbred stallions for distri-1 ution in sections of Kentucky where horse-breeding needed improvement and encouragement. The stallions were purchased and stabled in Lexington until last February, when they were distributed, and since then two others have been bought. The work of the year has been as follows: The stallion English Lad. at Wickliffe. served 50 mares; Samson at Edmonton, served 30; Mad River at Tompkinsville. served 48; Iolarine at Island City, sored 27: Milan at Lewisport, 14; Mirzcr at Ty-ner, 11; Rusy at Hindman. 50; Luke at Paducah, Ls; Magazine at London. 10; Ivan Gardner at Hen-■ l rson. 17. and John W. Chester at Williamsburg, 20, a total of 311 mares.
