STEEPLECHASERS AT AIKEN, S. C. Aiken. S. C is a regular colony for horsemen, r specially those in the steeplechasing division. Many stables of horses are wintering there, as usual. One of the largest establishments is that of Ambrose Clark, whose colors will be seen more frequently than usual this year in cross-country events. He has a number of imported horses, as well as a long string of those domestically bred. He had thirteen at Pimlico until recently, but ordered tli-m shipped to Aiken. Mr. Clark and F. S. Von Stade left lure i a day or two ago to spend the winter at Aiken. Mr. J. E." Davis and Mr. Bayard Tuckerman will depart shortly. Among those already there are Thomas Hitchcock. II. W. Sage. T. H. Thorne and Nash Turner. The latter has a string of jumpers in hand for next season.
