Matt .1. Winn. Mr. Browne requests that twenty -two stalls be reserved for his. racing establishment, which includes the three Derby cligibles, Manister Toi. King Herod and Crc-puse ule. and a number of highly-tried two-year-olds. Mr. Browne- states that the Derby colts are all progressing well in their training aad that they oaghl t reach here in the best possible condition. According to all reports Manister Toi i-i the best of he trio and the- one most likely to carry the Browne silks in the bit; race on the afternoon of May 11. IB- is much fancied by local hers.- men. owing to his splendiel bteedtag, the eatt being by Baatoi, winner of the- Ascot Cup. and many other Important race* in Baylaad Baatoi is said to have been seed for ISO guineas ,-ts a yearling to Ceorge Bdwarda, who sabseqaently won a small fortune with the horse. As a three-year-oU Baatoi is credited with having won the Free Handicap at Newmarket, beating J.imos K. Keenes Disguise, Mar-e-oii Bad Boaatara. This will 1h the first time for the colors of Grant Hagh Browne to be carried ou the Kentucky track* and his coming will mark a notable aceiuisi-tion to tie- already huge list of wealthy ami intlu-ential owners lending their support to the sport in tiiis stale. J. 1.. Goodman has just arrived in Louisville from Havana, where he experienced a sui-c-essful ■eaaoa. The- horses he campaigned there are now en route to Churchill Downs. Marshall, the- iMtsburgh lawyer anil owner, whose horses run in the name of the Key-ste.in- Stable, has in training at the Downs in charge of Jack "Chick" Dwyer, a fairly good stable that will l*- ampaigneel on the Kentucky e-ireiti* and later at tlie New York tracks. The list embraces seven bead and inclndea the four-year-olds Tnsb Tush. Reserve. Orgetorix and Spadix; tic three-, year-old Lightfoot and a pair of two-year-elda. The latter are Whiskey Dick, a bay c-olt by Dick WeDei Grace Commoner, and Dirty Pace, a hay tiiiy by Sweep — Nanette.
