CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF. The plater Anna Kruter dropped dead during the running of the third race at Mount Royal Friday. The second 1917 meeting of the Metropolitan Racing Association opened at Duffcrin Park, Toronto, yesterday, with a well-filled program of eight races. A petition has been circulated by the horsemen at Mount Royal requesting the Montreal Driving Club to change their dates for the second meeting scheduled for July 21 to 2S to July 10 to 23, so that there will be no conflict in dates with the newly-founded London Jockey Club. A large number of horsemen have already signed the petition.
