G. W. WINGFIELD BUYS STALLION ATHELING. Lexington, Ky., June 30. Secretary G. D. Wilson of the Kentucky Association, this afternoon said entries of foals for the Breeders Futurity for 1919, which will close Monday, arc coming in splendidly, also that the fourth payments on eligibles for the Breeders Futurity, to be decided at the fall meeting here, already have been sufficient to warrant the expectation that it will be one of the greatest juvenile races of the year. Geo. Wingfield, the Nevada millionaire turfman, in a letter received today by J. O. .Keene, says he has purchased the English stallion Atheling, by Desmond Wood Daisy, by Cyllone, and that he is to come over this summer, with three or four English mares in foal to popular sires. "Horses are getting scarce over there and it is hard to buy them," writes Wingfield.
