AMERICANS SUCCESSFUL IN FRANCE. W. K. Vanderbilts horses had a regular field day at Chantilly, France, June 14. His series of successes began when his spe"edy colt Mciggs, by Peter Pan Megga Hill, won the Prix de Con-flams of 3,000 francs, defeating fourteen others. The next race was the Prix de Phoebe of 15,000 francs, which was won by his three-year-old filly Brumelll, by Maintenon Brume. Then came the Prix DAurouer of 4,000 francs and this he won with his three-year-old Gloucester, by Prestige Gloriosa. Frank ONeill rode the three winners. On the same day F. R. Hitchcocks Sandy Hook, by Rock Sand Tangle and ridden by Garner, won the Prix DAvermes, so all around the Americans cut quite a figure in the days proceedings.
