PRAISE FOR JOCKEY "SKEETS" MARTIN One of the features of what little racing there has been this year lias been the capable horsemanship of the American jockey J. H, Martip,, Right at the top of the tree throughout the Sloan era, Martin has retained his reputation for smartness from the starting gate, while his handling of two-year-olds this year has earned for him the highest praise. A less resourceful jockey than Martin would have run the chance of being objected to when having to straighten Linggis First when that filly swerved away to the left and looked like interfering with Saltpetre at Windsor.
