SUN BRIARS VICTORIES PLACE W. S. KILMER AT HEAD OF AMERICAN WINNING OWNERS OF PRESENT YEAR One of the results of the last day of the Saratoga meeting was the presentation to the racing public of a new leader of the American winning owners of the present year. When W. S. Kilmer gave ,000 for Sun Briar at the Delbert Reiff sale last year he built better than he knew. When this colt was sold to him it had already been named Sunday, but he changed the name to that under which he has won fame and much money. It is due to the speed and dauntless gameness of this good son of Sundrhlge that Mr. Kilmer is now pre-eminent among- American owners. Second to him is II. P. Whitney, whose two-year-olds, with the exception of Itosie OGrady, have proved somewhat disappointing and, all tilings considered, he is having a good year in racing. Despite many misfortunes in his big stable, A. K. Ma-comber has not been without a measure of success and is now third in the list with a few hundred more to his credit than Jefferson Livingston. The contrast between Mr. Kilmers stable returns this year and last is striking, but G. W. Loft and II. C. Applegate both make a good showing in the same line, Papp furnishing the bulk of the Loft money won and Old Rosebud all of that to the credit of Applegate. The three leaders of last year,, U. G. Bedwell, R. T. Wilson and A. Belmont, are figuring respectably in this years statistics to date, the records of the thirty leading winners being: Won in Leading Winner Won in Leading Winner 1910.
