OPTIMISTIC OVER RACING OUTLOOK Phil T. Chinn Says Eastern Turfmen Are looking Forward to Next Year with Confidence. e Louisville, Ky., December 20. Phil T. Chinn, well-known Kentucky horseman, arrived in this city from New York today and lost no time in going out to Douglas Park, to view the band of twenty-one yearlings, the majority of which are foreign-bred, that Peter Wimmer lias under his care since their arrival at the local track. The youngsters are the joint property of Mr. Chinn and John A. Drake and will form a portion of the establishment that those owners will race next year under the notn de course of the Kentucky Stable. Mr. Chinn, who had not seen the youngsters in several months, was well pleased with their appearance and predicted they would hold their own when sent to the races next spring. Regarding the outlook for racing next year, Mr. Chinn did not hesitate to express a distinctly optimistic opinion. "During my stay in the east," he declared, "I have been in close touch with the gentlemen who are regarded as the leaders in the turf world and from what I could gather, they are all looking forward to next year with the utmost confidence. "While it is true that the Kentucky Stable intends disposing of some of its yearlings, owing to the fact that we are overstocked with young horses, we will, nevertheless, campaign next year a much larger stable than we raced this year. And, I believe the class of horses we will begin the season with, will be superior to those we sent to the post this year." Mr. Chinn intends remaining here for the remainder of the winter and will give his personal supervision to the training of the stables horses.
