SHIP CORRIGAN HORSES TO LEXINGTON Trainer Whalon Transfers Thirty-Seven Head from Churchill Downs to Kingston Farm. 0 Louisville, Ky., December 20. Contrary to general calculations, the extensive stable of J. W. Corrigan will not remain at Churchill Downs until a short time previous to the disnersal sale of the establishment, January 15. Today trainer John Whalen received orders from Mr. Corrigan to immediately ship the thirty-seven horses to Kingston Farm, where the Corrigan stallions and broodmares are located. Late tonight the horses were placed aboard the cars and sent to their destination. Mr. Whalen accompanied the shipment and, after seeing the horses safely unloaded, will proceed to his home at Jamaica, L. I. Earl McQuaide, who has managed the stables business affairs so ably during the past two years, will shortly leave for Cleveland, where he will probably accept a position with the firm of Corrigan and McKinney. To what use the big barn just vacated by the Corrigan stable at the Downs will be put is a matter of conjecture. It is one of the finest structures of its kind in the country and was built nearly fifteen years ago. The structure cost 7,500, but it is doubtful if it could be duplicated today for twice that amount. The cottage adjoining the barn, which was occupied by Price McKinney, upon the occasion of his. visits to Louisville, will also be tenantless. It is reported that George J. Long is contemplating taking a lease on it.
