May 11. — Iiorses are reaching Beno every week to be placed in training for the nineteen-day meeting which opens here on June !•"». and about sixty now are taking their daily workouts at the local track every morning. For the last ten days "railhirds" have lieen plentiful at the Hack holding clovks on the horses ami some good work-outs have heea reported. Honolulu Boy. in charge ot James Donovan, who trains Tryon and Malloys string of thoroughbreds. arrived at the track yesterday from San Jose. He was brought to the coast only recently from the east. Four other horses arrived this week, three from Sacramento and one from Tijuana. Other horses to show up well in recent work onls are: Al Neals basket: W. T. Choles Dervisi:. a sister to Divlaud. also owned b.v Kchols: Jake Bishops Vi.ible and lieorge Wingfields If Coming. .loo Hooker, owned by Louis Saner, has lieen taken in charge by W. P. Ojiilliams. and is fast rounding into condition. He promises to lie one of the contenders at the track this year. The track is said to be in excellent condition at the uresciit time and quite fast. It has here har- leered and is sprinkled every day. Just who will have charge of the betting machines ami the form chart this year has not been decided.
