SQlEELER was saved in the early running and. moving up rapidly after rounding into the stretch, took the lead, but had to be ridden hard near the end to outstay SEDAN. The latter came fast in the last eighth and finished resolutely. RIFLE raced forwardly from the start and held on well to the end. BON TROMP tired in the last eighth after showing the most speed to the stretch. SKILLS KNOB closed a gap in the stretch. AZALEA ran poorly in the going. Scratched— 38091sChaliners, 121. LANCE, away fast, showed the most earlv speed, but tired badly in the last eighth. JAP ran a good race and made a fast and game finish. LADY APT tired in the stretch. KUPTKK-BCOTCH II.. favored by the soft going, showed fine speed iu pacemakiug and disposed of COINTKK-BLAST in the first half, but tired fast when challenged. JIM HEFFERING had to be hard ridden for the entire race and responded gamely. CAPT. REES ran well in going unfavorable to him. WARSAW quit badly. The others were always outrun. EXTERMINATOR moved up fast after going three-quarters and. slipping through next to the inner rail, raced into the lead and outstayed ESCOBA in the final drive. ESCOBA raced forwardly from the start and made a resolute effort in the last eighth, but tired in the lust sixteenth. VIVA AMERICA showed the most early speed, but found the distance a trifle too far for her. WAR CLOUD met with much interference on the first two turns, but remained close up to the last quarter, where he tired and dropped back. SEWELL COMBS raced well for three-quarters. JAS. T.
