CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF The distance of race 41198 was one mile and seventy yards instead of one mile and twenty yards as printed. Jack Adlor is considered the "champion salesman of the turf." for it was through his ability and management that over ,500,000 worth of Liberty Bonds were sold ou the eastern race tracks last year. The Boston Work-Horse Relief Association lias a free hospital in the City of Boston for horses owned by poor men. and no charge whatever is made. Any horse will be received in case of emergency. W. L. Oliver will have a string of eight horses for the spring campaign over the Maryland and New York tracks. They include old Kcwessa. Kilts II., Belario. New Haven, Crumpsall, Musket, Beauty Sleep and Auctioneer. Sergt. Martin J. Murphy has sent from France an application for a .trainers license to the Jockey Club, with the expectation of returning home by the end of February. Murphy is said to have seeh considerable fighting at Arras, Lorraine, Chateau Thierry and Verdun. Trainer W. II. Karrick says he has in his charge a three-year-old that will have to 1m given due consideration when the probable winners of the big stakeM iu that division are being discussed. He refers to Sweep On. the property of W. K. Coo, which has improved wonderfully duriiS the winter mouths.
