The winter meeting at Oriental Park is now about half completed unless an extension is announced later. Alter an unusually long period of inclement weather and heavy track hiving, the sport is now lieing conducted under ideal climatic conditions and over a coarse as safe and fast as could be desired. The attendance has been exceedingly large and continues to improve as the season advances. Since the opening of the meeting on Thanksgiving Day and until February 1 there were 293 races decided at Oriental Park aud 03,340 distributed in stakes and nurses.
