CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF Sir Rarton lias been entered in many of the valuable stakes at Laurel and Pimlico. K. R Thomas has purchased from J. K. Madden the two-year-old filly Ricochet, by Star Shoot Rebound. William Hogan will ship P. A. Clarks Dnn-bovne from Aqueduct .to Latonia in a day or so to run in the 0,000 Latonia Championship Stakes. J. W. Cof froth, manager of the Tijuana track, is now in Washington, and upon the result of his mission there will anuounce whether or not there will be any racing at the far western track next winter. Since 1S00 the Kpsoni Derby has only twice been worth over 5,000 to the owner of the winner. In Lord Lyous year, ISOO, its value to R. Sutton was 15,750, and when Sir Revys bcorcd in 1879 it netted Mr. Acton 5,125. This year Lord Glauely received 2,250 over Grand Parades victory. The famous 25,000 English marc Sceptre, now twenty years old and nothing great as a brood marc, lies been bred this year to I-ord Glanelys 545 service stallion Quantock, a No. 5 family horse, which earned some distinction as a sprinter. Quantock is ten years old, by Thrush, by Missel Thrush Chemistry. His dam was Rock Egg, by Ayrshire I The Rock.
