PICKWICK WINS ST0NYBR00K STAKES Leads All the Way in Feature Attraction at Aqueduct Long-Distance Race to Snapdragon II, NEW YORK, N. Y., September 24. W. C. Clancys Picwick proved that he is in excellent form at present by winning in decisive manner from Recount and Arrah Go On in the Stonybrook Selling Stakes at one mile, which was worth ,000 net. Under the impression that the Clancy racer would hardly stay the route wiien matched against such formidable opposition, the quotations against him ascended somewhat, although lie always ruled favorite. Arrali Go On was away first, but Pickwick soon passed him and held his advantage to the end. Recount, finishing fast, beat Arrah Go On for second place. The going had dried out considerably, although next to the inner rail for abouttwenty feet it was still quite slow. Fairly good timewus made, however. Serving as a secondary feature, the fifth race, over a long route, attracted much interest, as such races usually do. SnaiKlragon II. was; the ultimate winner, after ruling favorite in the quotations. Claquer attempted- to. duplicate his victory of a few days ago by racing into a good lead, but Snapdragon 11., which lacked speed in the early running, closed up fast in the stretcli to win going away.
