THREE STRAIGHT VICTORIES Azrael Scores Most Pretentious Success in Ontario Handicap. i Carmandale Equals Track Record in Winning Secondary Feature of Afternoon. f . a WINDSOR. Ontario, August 24. T. Murphys four-year-old Inferno At Once colt, Azrael, scored Ills third consecutive and most pretentious victory this afternoon, defeating the best of the Canadian-; bred horses in training in the ,000 added Ontario Handicap, at a mile. Ccnfidently ridden by jockey Walls, the Murphy color bearer was restrained behind the leaders until rounding the fai turn, where Jie was given his head and, responding gamely, came around the others to win in the closing strides, with Flame and Somme next in order at the finish. Despite his brace of recent victories Azrael was a comparative outsider in the betting. St. Paul and Captain H., coupled as the H. Giddings entry, went to the post favorites. Captain 11. raced prominently for three-quarters before tiring, but St. Paul did not threaten seriously at any time. The Chatham Handicap at three-quarters, the secondary feature of the days card, turned up a fast race in which Carmandale equaled the track record of 1:15, established by Mind Baggage as a three-year-old with 105 pounds up. Kennedy leaves here tomorrow for New York, where he will endeavor to pick one or two handicap horses for campaigning at Havre do Grace and other Maryland courses in the fall. Frank J. Bruen, general manager of Oriental Fark, leaves here tomorrow night for New York, from where he will proceed to Havana. Jockeys J. Ileupel and J. MeTaggart were fined 0 each by the stewards for vile and abusive language to a gatekeeper yesterday and were warned "that a repetition of their infraction of the rules will result in the revoking of their licenses. Hcupel injured his left hand while playing baseball in the vicinity of the paddock today and was forced to cancel his engagements for the afternoon. Jockey Eddie Barnes arrived last night from Montreal and announced tha"t the horses of Dee Hammond, his contract employer, are on the way from that city to take part in the Devonshire meeting. Condition books for the Montreal Jockey Club fall meeting at Blue Bonnets were distributed among the horsemen by Joseph McLennan this morning. Locarno, Gorliam and Happy Valley have been added to the schooling list. Jockey Bobby Hoffman is an arrival from New York and will ride free lance. He can make 107 pounds. 4
