ALL READY FOR THE BIG RACE WINDSOR, Ontario, October 9. Trainer II. G. Bedweli sent Sir Barton a mile and a quarter over the Kenilworth course this morning in 2:09. Bedweli was well pleased and pronounced Sir Barton ready for the big race. Fifteen minutes before the horses were called to the- post for the first race, Louis Fenstel brought Man o War out, with Happy Gordon in the saddle. The big horse galloped to the head of the home stretch .and was sent a mile and a quarter. He was under stout restraint until the last quarter, when he began to lengthen his stride and run some. He ran the mile and a quarter in 2:07. The fractional time was as follows: 12, 25, 38, 51, 1:04, 1:17, 1:44, 2:07. There was a great crowd out to witness the move and when he came tearing down the homestretch the last time around, Man o War was given a great ovation. He is in superb condition. The moving picture men were out in force at Kenilworth this afternoon taking pictures of all of the officials who will preside on the day the big race is run. The management announced that special trains would leave the Michigan Central depot every half-hour on Tuesday next, beginning at 11 oclock in the morning, while the gates of the track will be thrown open at 9 oclock and an extra force of ticket sellers and gatemen will be employed.
