FRANCO AMERICAN BLOOD. Many Winners in France Which Have Our Native Crosses. A. K. Macomber to Carry on the Vanderbilt, Mackay and Duryea Influence.. 1 BY EXILE. The racing success of horses abroad, which exhibit in the pedigrees, what for convience sake, may be termed American blood, must, to say the least of it, be a source of encouragement to the bloodstock breeders of this country. Many a good French winner, which on one side or the wther, carried American blood, did the late Mr. Vanderbilt send to the races, as did those progressive and enterprising breeders, Mr. Herman B. Duryea and Mr. Clarence H. Mackay and now that Mr. A. K. Macomber has taken over the Vanderbilt bloodstock holdings, a lot more will soon be heard of the winning ways of horses which carry in their veins American blood on the continent of Europe.
